Where in the World?

During our travels some (mostly South African) Google+ friends and I started posting riddles for each other. We'd post a photograph of a scene while travelling and challenge the others to 'find us'. Ideally, with South(ern) African locations, we should identify it from memory. But if need be we can employ Google and other tools. I found this 'game' highly enjoyable and decided to share some of the fun in this purpose-created blog. I'm posting the riddles and answers as separate blog posts.

Well as it says below the header of this blog, for the fun of it. I'll probably expand on this explanation at a later stage...

You wanna play?

Due to layout constraints in Blogger the 'home' page of this blog shows all posts. So if you'd like to play the game, i.e. try and solve some of the riddles, the home page is not really the best place to start.
To try your hand at this start with the 'Riddles' page. You'll find all of the riddles posted in this blog on that page, one after the other.
If you think you know the answer to a riddle, or have given up, you can check the 'Answers' page, where - you've guessed it - all the answers are listed.
Finally, if you wonder how on earth did anyone figure that out!? ...or you just want to check if others were almost as clever as you in finding the answer, you'll find the 'how' ....wait for it... on the "How on Earth!?" page.
