Where in the World?

During our travels some (mostly South African) Google+ friends and I started posting riddles for each other. We'd post a photograph of a scene while travelling and challenge the others to 'find us'. Ideally, with South(ern) African locations, we should identify it from memory. But if need be we can employ Google and other tools. I found this 'game' highly enjoyable and decided to share some of the fun in this purpose-created blog. I'm posting the riddles and answers as separate blog posts.

At present I'll be picking up 'where in the world am I" challenges from my network on Google+ and will re-post them here. So if you're on Google+, make sure to circle me ( +Mike Smuts ) and simply mention me in your "Where in the World am I" post on Google+. Unless I'm flooded with challenges I'll endeavour to share any worthwhile challenges on this blog.

If you're not on Google+ your easiest avenue is to join Google+, believe you me it will be worth the trouble. Otherwise you can alert me to a challenge on another platform, e.g. Facebook, by posting a comment on this page.
